Bővebb ismertető
A new kind of cooking has taken America by storm. In busy households all across the country, and in many other parts of the world as well, the microwave oven is becoming the cooking appliance of choice. That's what this book is all about. Whether you are a beginning microwave cook or an experienced one. The Good Housekeeping Illustrated Microwave Cookbook is the book you can turn to for everything you'll need to know. It's chock-full of delicious recipes, cooking tips, and how to's, plus a wealth of understandable information about microwave ovens, cooking, and techniques, all to guarantee perfectly cooked food.
A beautiful color picture index of all the recipes is found at the beginning of the book, organized according to the time required for
preparation and cooking. This makes recipe selection and meal planning even easier since you can see exactly how the food will look and how long it will take before making your selection.
Next, we show you step-by-step how to prepare the recipes. We illustrate the cooking techniques you will use, list the equipment needed and exactly how long the recipe will take from start to finish.
We know you're interested ingood nutrition, so each recipe includes not only the calorie count, but a thorough nutritional analysis as well.
Menus are included to show how to combine recipes for everyday and special occasion meals. And a plan of action is included with each menu so you will know exactly what to prepare when, and how much time will be needed.
Many of these recipes were developed by my staff and me for the pages of Good Housekeeping magazine. Others were developed just for this book by our cookbook consultant, Rebecca Marshall. All have been thoroughly tested in a wide variety of600-, 650-, and 700-watt microwave ovens. Because time is of the essence, we have made them as simple as possible and kept cookware to a minimum.
We hope, through the pages of this first Good Housekeeping microwave cookbook, you will discover, as we have, that microwave cooking is fun and that it is possible to cook almost anything — well!
