Introduction
This book supplies a logical method of treating hair conditions, but it does not promise results without effort. Written from the viewpoint of Nature Cure, it is based on the principle that all disease — and here we are regarding hair trouble as a symptom of disease — arises from some malfunctioning of the body. It is believed not that disease is something that attacks the body from without, but rather that it arises first of all within the body as a result of disobedience of the laws of health. The treatirient herein is based on the understanding that the symptoms, manifest only after disease has arisen, show the body's desire and ability to cleanse its tissues and heal itself, which, after all, is the perfect conception.
Disease, then, is something connected with the way of life of the patient and is a direct outcome of wrong habits, which may be found in eating, exercising or thinking. It is also recognized that there is within the body a residual power which always attempts to retain the integrity of the physical structure by fighting any form of ill-health that arises within its compass. It must be emphasized that this residual healing power cannot be activated by any external agent but is inherent and automatic, although it may be controlled, within limits, by imagination and will-power.
In hair disorders it is usual to regard the condition as a local one, but this does not come within the philosophy of Nature Cure; and it is believed that, fundamentally, all disease comes from the one main cause. This cause may be
