"What is he?" means "What is his job?" 4.Don't mix up "i'm sorry", "Excuse me" and "I beg your pardon." Look at these sentences: I'm sorry, I am late. /apolegizing for something / Excuse me, can you teli me the time? /asking something politely/ Pardon /or: I beg your pardon/, what did you say? /when you don't hear something properly.
