EDITOR'S NOTE: This commemorative issue is dedicated to Louis Kossuth (1802-1894), the great Hungárián freedom fighter, patriot, and statesman, and to the Hungárián War of Independence (1848-1849) which he inspired and led. For this reason, we had to shuffle things around a bit to fit everything in within the limited number of pages available to us. We will, however, pick up and continue in our next issue several of the ongoing series of features which we had to leave out in this one. So please bear with us.) Goodman's ongoing series of articles on the history of Hungary, which we will continue next month, we have leap-frogged over his sequentially timeframed order to present his articles about Louis Kossuth and the Hungárián War of Independence, Sándor Petőfi, the Martyrs of Arad, Kossuth's Tour of the United States and the reasons for its failure, and about "The Forgottén Kossuth".
